Google+ for Business

The book I read to research this post was Google+ for Business by Chris Brogan which is an excellent book which I bought from Kindle. According to this author Google+ is the next big thing. When Google ran a trial with Google+ twenty million signed up in the space of a few weeks. Facebook has 750 million members & that works out at 1 in 11 of the planets population but what Google+ has done is very impressive. With social network they seem to have a lifespan & if you look at MySpace & Friendster which were very popular & although they still have a lot of members they are only a shadow of their former selves. Even sites like Facebook & Google+ won't last forever. Google+ is about giving useful information. I think it's a shame you can't do blogs on their site. You have circles on their site so for example if you were a photographer you might have a circle for customers, one for friends & one for family etc. You can send information that's relevant to a particular circle to all the members of a circle. Also a lot it is about if you find a useful website you tell people about it. They have business pages which you have to pay a subscription for one feature is you can't join a hangout but you can start one. Hangouts are like groups on other social media sites. If you all share a common interest it lets you discuss it. Some celebrities like Wil Wheaton of Star Trek Next Generation fame are major users of Google+. If you are selling a product you are probably better off concentrating on members of the public as they are more likely to converse with you & buy. Many celebrities have PR people who run their page.
