Amazon Cloudsearch

The book I read to research this post was Cloudsearch Developer Guide which is an excellent book which I downloaded for free from kindle. I've noticed these posts on the various cloud services Amazon offers are quite popular so I have downloaded a load of developer guides from kindle and they should feature strongly on this site over the next few weeks. Anyway Cloudsearch is a search engine that lets you search your intranet or website. It's compatible with other Amazon products in particular S3 or simple storage service and EC2 or elastic compute cloud. It does advanced searches like boolean and returns the results in either JSON which is the default or XML. These of course are standards not computer languages. Amazon have done a sample database of 5,000 movies for you to practise with.
