I am going to start doing album reviews for both new & classic albums in addition to the other blogs. The first one I'm doing is Station to Station by David Bowie. This album came out in 1976 & was a kind of soundtrack for the film The Man Who Fell to Earth which also starred Bowie & was directed by Nicholas Roeg who also made Performance starring Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. It has been said that Bowie who played an alien who visited Earth was taking so many drugs he really did think he was an alien & wasn't acting. He does give a good performance in the film. The title track which is also the opening track is one of the best tracks Bowie ever did. In fact every track on this album is good. Golden Years which made No2 on the british singles was one of his biggest hits upto that time. Other singles which were Wild is the Wind & TVC15 were only minor but are pretty good. On the whole this is an excellent album.
