12 Memories - Travis
I am reviewing the album 12 Memories by Travis which is a very good album. This album is a few years old and marked a change of direction for the band to a more gentle typeof music which some thought might be unpopular with some fans. Travis won the brit award for best group twice and paved the way for groups like Coldplay. They come Glasgow in Scotland and formed in 1990 towards the end of the britpop era. This was there 3rd studio album and did get favourable reviews on the whole and made number 3 on the UK album charts. They are named after the Harry Dean Stanton character in the film Paris, Texas. They have just released a new album in Britain. Apparently they are signed to someone who works for Sony Music so if he leaves he takes them with him. This is called a golden handcuffs clause in the industry. They have done quite a bit of charity work and performed at G8 & on the Bandaid 20 single. I did look at the wikipedia article on this group to research this post and recommend it.
