There are quite a lot of books on development of apps for windows 8 phone but not many on how to use one of these phones. This book does an admirable job of that. It's got lots of screenshots and is quite easy to understandable. They do say it's the best phone operating system for newbies to this technology. I have a Nokia Lumia 810 which I absolutely love but wanted to take my knowledge of it to a higher level. It integrates with Windows 8 for PC's for things like to upgrade the operating system. You can download updates on the phone but they recommend doing it via the computer and wi-fi. It's really easy to personalize your phone with things like a photograph as a wallpaper on your screen and a theme. There is a scrolling screen like other smartphones. Accessing an app is as simple as scrolling down the screen and double clicking a virtual button with your finger. If press it and hold it down a shortcut menu appears including a delete app option. Some of these phones only have a camera on the back and there is of course a video recording virtual button. On most of these cameras there is no flash and some of the better ones have a hdtv resolution on the screen. I enjoyed reading this book and have learned quite a lot from it.
